Why is a new plan needed ?

• The current plan is out of date

  • All the planned housing sites have been used up
  • We need to provide for future housing demand
  • Need to reflect changes in government policy on town centres, the environment and transport
  • The County’s ‘Structure Plan’ covering 1991-2011 has been agreed… Our Local Plan must be updated to cover this period.
