Housing - Development Trends

• continued pressure for low density, ‘executive’ housing in locations dependent on the car. -over 55% of homes built since 1991 are larger homes (3-4 beds +)  -less than 10 % are ‘affordable’ homes for rent.

• The government wants to see 60% of new housing on ‘previouslyused’ land and use of the Green Belt as a last resoirt
