Broxbourne Council is reviewing the local development plan for the Borough.
The aim of the  plan   is to  set out to provide enough homes, jobs and services in the right places without adding to congestion, wasting resources, causing pollution or damaging the environment.

The Current Local Development
Plan adopted in 1994

The local development plan sets out how land will be used and developed in the future. It gives guidance on where new development should be located in the Borough.

Once adopted, the  plan is a legal document.  Decisions on planning applications and appeals are made in line with the development plan unless there are sound reasons why  not.

A review is needed  as nearly all the housing land allocated in the current plan to 2001 has been developed or is in construction. The new  plan will extend this to 2011.
